COVID-19: Important Information (March 2020)

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a lot of uncertainty and continues to affect us all. As a landlord or tenant, you may have a few questions regarding your account, adverts or membership with Roomgo.

So, we have put together a guide to assist you and answer common questions you may have:

1.      How will Roomgo services be affected by COVID-19?

As a business, we are taking a number of steps to maintain the functionality of our platform and ensure that users across all our websites have continued access to our service.

We understand this situation can be stressful, so in order to help all our users, Roomgo will be free to use for all from the 2nd April until the  11th May 2020. For premium customers with an active Premium membership this means an extra 30 days as a thank you for their ongoing support. Please note this extension will be applied after the free-for-all period.

Our top priority remains the health and safety of all our staff and users. We strongly encourage you to continue to check and follow the Government rules and advice. Please keep on reading for our tips on how to make the most out of the current situation.

2.      How can I arrange viewings with the current social distancing measures?

Virtual viewings can be a great option. As a landlord, you can record a viewing and send it to potential tenants or organise a video call with other members. It is always great to include flatmates so people have a better idea of what to expect if they move into the new flat one day.

When it comes to moving into a new flat, landlords and renters should where possible delay this, while measures are in place to fight COVID-19.

3.      What do I do if my property move is already scheduled?

According to the official guidelines, moves should be delayed where possible until the travel restrictions are removed. Therefore, we advise our users to delay a house move, even if it has already been arranged and contracts have been exchanged.

If moving is unavoidable for contractual reasons and the parties are unable to reach an agreement to delay, people must follow advice on staying away from others to minimise the spread of the virus.

4.      How do I keep myself safe from the COVID-19?

We strongly advise that you check regularly the gov.uk website for all the latest updates and guidelines concerning the virus.

There are general rules you can follow to stop the spread of the virus:

  •        Only go outside for food, health reasons or work (but only if you cannot work from home)
  •        If you go out, stay 2 metres (6ft) away from other people at all times
  •        Wash your hands as soon as you get home
  •        Do not meet others, even friends or family.

You should also:

  •        Wash your hands with soap and water often – for at least 20 seconds
  •        Wash your hands as soon as you get home
  •        Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve (not your hands) when you cough or sneeze
  •        Put used tissues in the bin immediately and wash your hands
  •        Not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean
